Lead Blog for 10/26 "The Champions" and SNL

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJ4hBC_tAME             Saturday Night Live has given us some of the greatest and most quotable moments in comedy history.   SNL has given us everything from “Night at the Roxbury” and “The Spanish Inquisition” to “More Cowbell” and “I’m on a Boat.”   So many comedians have started their career at SNL before going on to become superstars in the world of comedy.   Even more comedians have been guest hosts of the show.   Saturday Night Live alums include the likes of Will Ferrell, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Jimmy Fallon, and so many more.   We have even seen full length movies such as A Night at the Roxbury that were inspired by SNL skits.               A few months ago, I was watching an episode that was being hosted by former NBA all-star Charles Barkley when the sketch in the link...

            Home Alone has always been a classic.   I do not think that I know a single person who does not like Home Alone.   I mean, what is there to dislike about it?   Ellery is 100% correct in her description of Kevin as an absolute savage.   I can also definitely see the argument for psychopath too.   It is odd to think that we can find a movie like Home Alone , which on the surface has very strong images of child neglect, so funny.   Obviously, Kevin lives a privileged life, but the entire plot of the movie, and indeed the title, are based on him being sent to the attic for the night as a punishment and then being subsequently forgotten the following morning as his entire family goes to France without him.   It is definitely a good thing that this movie came out when it did as opposed to today.   Regardless of the fact that the movie is blatantly a comedy, I could stil...

Twitter is arguably one of the funniest and most controversial forms of social media.   I started my Twitter account and told myself that I would use it strictly as a way to see different pressing news and sports articles that are posted by Fox News, CNN, ESPN, etc. etc.   A few years in now and my twitter is full of nothing but memes and ridiculous tweets such as those of the Hurricane Florence page along with the occasional tweet about a new concept car.   To be honest, I could not be happier about it.   Twitter offers a place to go and see truly funny statements, pictures, and videos and just laugh for the sake of laughing.   I also followed the Hurricane Florence page as the (at the time) category 4 monster barreled toward the North Carolina/South Carolina border.   I’m not sure how the person who ran the account came up with so many funny ideas and things to say about the storm.   The account had multiple tweets per day for about...
